Talking about what sin is has become taboo in our modern
society. We have adopted an illegitimate departure when considering the
subject. We cowardly fled as if functional impunity where covering us, and took
refuge in a new language, misnamed: tolerance. All because we reject the true
about the big unsolved problem that is being a lost soul, just for the sake of
getting acceptance of this world and its “morality”.
If you are still reading this lines is likely you really are
interested in what I will now discuss.
Sin is part of our
own human nature. Think it is a spiritual cancer that we all suffer and for
which we have serious and negative consequences. For as humans sin is like
seeing and speaking. We produce it so natural that we cannot solve the problem
by ourselves, and it does wound many on their ego, inciting a rebellious spirit
against the truth, and with all sorts of useless efforts, push man to seek to
erase what is undeniable:
"Without
exception, all are sinners."
We have innumerable rules and base our life on external
ornaments, trying to gain the respect and admiration of others based on
accumulated possessions, professions or positions of worldly importance, all of
which has neither value nor power against sin.
Jesus Christ taught us that we cannot change what we are:
"sinners", using human effort,
He called the Pharisees:
whitewashed tombs, illustrating that even if you are in a very strict
sect that is respected by today’s
society, but had not accepted your
condition and repented of your sins, accepting Jesus as your Savior, you are
still dead in your sins, and eternal death is awaiting you.
Just think, this matter is so serious that neither Jesus
Christ with his sacrifice could redeem our carnal nature:
Or did not we know
that no blood or flesh inherit the kingdom of heaven?
Our soul can only be
cleansed by the blood of The Covenant of grace and forgive us our human nature
providing us to entry into eternal salvation without any merit, but accepting
Him, I mean Jesus Christ.
I do not want to
confuse the reader into thinking that a redeemed person has license to sin. The
apostle John said, that Christians do not sin with impunity, even as Peter
explained
As John himself, warns the believer, (if) when falling into sin, as a victim of the flesh,
the Christian has Christ as a lawyer against the deadly consequences of sin, not with impunity, but of the sin that
exhale by our condition.
The believer has such struggle to acknowledge his
conditions, but can overcome the denial, thru abstinence, meaning renouncing
the deceiving treats of this world, letting
God guide his mind by his the Scriptures, and maintaining a continued battle against all the mundane
and polluting elements that attack his
soul.
To understand the grace of God, we must first realize that
we are sinners without any merit, beings incapable of producing our own salvation,
only when we are honestly convinced of
our condition is when we can accept the
gift of God , forgiveness and salvation , and all for His Grace.
